OUR MISSION AT A GLANCE
In light of the Prime Minister’s announcement on the extension of the MRO until the 14th of April, several scholars studying in KTJ have pledged to donate a portion of their monthly allowance to assist those most gravely affected by the Movement Restriction Order (MRO). Collectively, the scholars' have amounted RM10,000 for vulnerable communities around Malaysia.
The reason for this is because, while we comfortably stay put in our own homes, we sometimes forget about the privilege that many of us have. Many people out there do not have enough food, while others do not even have a home at all. Our aim is to assist those who have lost their income due to this pandemic, so that they may make it through these tough times.
Inspired by the scholars, Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar has pledged to donate RM5,000 to this cause as well. Therefore, we ultimately decided to organise and launch this fundraiser to achieve an even bigger impact!
The Plan
1. We will raise money from the school community and donate to different organisations that are directly involved in the distribution of basic needs (food, water etc.) to vulnerable families and individuals.
2. The fundraiser will start on the 27th of March 2020 and end on midnight the 3rd of April .
3. The funds raised will then be donated to the organisations that we have identified as having fit with our goals. These organisations can be found below.
Therefore, we are inviting the rest of the school community, parents, teachers, staff, and students, to step up and to take action. Show that you care by donating generously, think of the children. We're all in this together!
